'Uri' box office collection Week 7: The Vicky Kaushal starrer military drama sets an all-time seventh-we - Times of India


Debutant director Aditya Dhar's military drama ' Uri: The Surgical Strike' starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam in the lead roles has set an all-time record collection in its seventh week. The film has registered a record-breaking collection in the week, surpassing any other Bollywood film ever. Despite fresh competition at the box office, the film is still going strong. The film which released on January 11 now holds all-time records for week four, week five, week six and week seven.

According to the latest report by BoxofficeIndia.com, on its seventh week, the film has managed to rake in a total of Rs 6.25 crore at the box office. This week saw the collections get a boost as the tensions between India and Pakistan heightened. The film has collected a total of Rs 236.91 crore at the box office in seven weeks.

The film is expected to beat the collections of Ranveer Singh starrer 'Simmba' to be in the top ten grossers of all time.

FYI, the film collected a total of Rs 71.23 crore at the box office in its first week. The second-week collection stands at a total of Rs 62.76 crore. The film collected a total of Rs 37.06 crore at the box office on its third week. The film collected Rs 29.30 crore in its fourth week. The fifth-week collection stands at a total of Rs 18.25 crore. The film registered a sixth-week collection of Rs 11.60 crore.

The film is based on the surgical strikes carried out on September 29, 2016, by the Indian Army on terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control. The strikes were carried out in retaliation to a terrorist attack on an army camp at Uri earlier that month.

Written and directed by Aditya Dhar, ' Uri: The Surgical Strike' is bankrolled by Ronnie Screwvala. 'Uri' was announced by the producer after one year of the surgical strike in September 2017. The film also stars Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari, and Mohit Raina in lead roles.
