Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Andahdhun has crossed Rs 150-crore-mark in China, the world’s second biggest movie market, within a week of release.

Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Andhadhun is a thriller that received wide critical acclaim and stars Radhika Apte and Tabu.

Ayushmann said in a press statement, “It’s overwhelming and heart-warming to see the love and acclaim that AndhaDhun has been getting in China. As an artist, it is incredible to see my film cross over and get such fantastic reaction. I have always believed that films speak a universal language and it cuts across geographies and Sriram Raghavan’s vision, AndhaDhun, just proved it in a massive way in China. I’m thrilled to receive so much love from the Chinese audiences.”

Sharing his joy over the development, Ayushmann posted an unreleased picture from the film on Instagram and wrote, “This was the last day of shoot in Poland. Check out the date in the poster. The year is 2020. We thought we were making a very interesting gem. Never thought it’ll become such a mammoth of a success, esp in China. Thank you Sriram Raghavan sir. #Andhadhun crosses 150 crores in China.”

Raghavan has made thrillers such as Ek Haseena Thi, Badlapur and Johnny Gaddaar. Andhadhun opened to good reception in India as well. The film went on to earn Rs 73.37 crore domestically, as per Boxofficeindia. Ayushmann Khuranna will next be seen in Dream Girl, which also stars Nushrat Bharucha.
