Michelle Obama will not run for president because of her daughters, she has revealed during her first trip to Scotland.

The former first lady, who appeared at a fundraising dinner in Edinburgh last night, also questioned why women voters helped Donald Trump to the presidency over Hillary Clinton.

Mrs Obama has come under pressure to seek the Democratic nomination for president for 2020. Many see her as one of the most likely candidates to defeat President Trump.

However, in a conversation session during last night’s event, she dismissed the prospect of following in her husband’s footsteps to the White House. “Will I do it? No,” she said. “I will not be running for office.” Asked what was stopping her, she replied: “My children.” Her daughter…
